I sat down yesterday morning to list out my intentions for 2015. I like to have a constant reminder because I’m a tad bit flighty and am easily distracted. I LOVE LOVE LOVE vision boards and had such an uplifting and motivational party last year that I’m going to get the gals together again in a couple weeks to do it all again. My rough draft for my board is this list.
1. Save more, spend less
If you were to judge me by my bank statements you would think that all I did was eat for a living. Seems like every line item is a restaurant of some sort, grocery store, or gas station. I must admit, I do eat out. A LOT! And most of the time unnecessarily. I could save a huge chunk of money by refraining from dining out. And it would help tons with my next resolution.
2. Get healthy, stay healthy
I have tried every diet fad on the market. I have lost and gained weight more than the law allows. But in 2014, I barely tried to lose or maintain my weight and the end result was being the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life. This year, I vow to make better decisions when eating and committing to physical daily activity. This is not a resolution but a requirement. Honestly, I don’t feel fit to be the face of my own brand. I’ve definitely got to do better so I can feel better about myself.
3. Rest & relaxation
I crashed and burned in December after working three months straight with only four days off. NEVER AGAIN! I vow to take a day off every week. I cringe as I type that, but mama’s gotta get her rest. December was a slow month for me and I could have gotten a lot done but I was so burned out that I was unproductive.
4. Practice, practice, practice
I must devote more time to practicing my crafts. Not only will more practice make me a better face painter/henna artist/hand letterer, etc. but it will make me faster. And the less time it takes to crank out good work the more money I can make. As much sense as that makes, I really haven’t put much effort into practicing like I should.
I’ve never done it before, but I’d love to learn more about meditation in order to incorporate it into my day-to-day. I want my focus to be on “fleek”! LOL!
List your resolutions in the comments below and we can be each other’s accountability partners! Happy New Year y’all!
