Gordon Parks: Segregation Story – Jackson Fine Art – through Saturday, March 14, 2015 – Gordon Parks is one of my faves. While most may know him as the director for the 70s flick, Shaft, he holds a place in my heart as one of my favorite photographers, like ever. He also co-founded Essence magazine, pioneered the Blaxploitation genre, was an activist, campaigned for civil rights, was a writer, and a musician. Pretty badass, right? “Segregation Story” is a recently recovered collection of his work currently on display at Jackson Fine Art and the High Museum of Art. The exhibit at Jackson Fine Art ends Saturday, the High’s exhibit will be showcased until June 21, 2015. I suggest checking out both. Like a boss!
