Bracken, the four year old son of Heather and Mark. His distinct personality made us instant best buds. He would come over periodically throughout the day and hang out in my booth and we’d chat it up about how much fun we were both having. Of course, he was the first face I painted every morning and it was indeed my pleasure. That Sunday morning before the festival began, he came to my booth with both hands on his hips in an authoritative stance and stated, "I had a dream last night and I know exactly what I want on my face today! A kitty cat and a red bow." I wouldn't dare disappoint him.
I most definitely wouldn’t have enjoyed myself as much had I not had the help of my cousin Brajuan. She was an astounding assistant for the weekend and another reason why the experience was heightened. I got to spend time with family. My little cousins Angel and Bryanna even chipped in and helped out around the booth and drew me some pretty awesome signs! I was elated to have them around! I'm still on a high from that weekend!
This event has been a lot of work and I already know some of the things I’d do differently next year. I’ll be sure to keep you guys a recap of the event after it takes place. I’m so excited about it that it’s really all I think about. I’ve been more focused on this event than any other thing in my life right now. Sometimes I focus on the kid, much to his dismay. I probably won’t have a completely clean house until after this is over. As of now, it looks like my house should be condemned. LOL! But it’s all for the kids! I can’t wait to see how excited they will be!
