I prepared as best I could and prayed that everything would be in tact when I returned. I’m a one-woman shop. I don’t have employees. I do EVERYTHING myself. All of my day-to-day operations are handled solely by me. Therefore, I had to enlist the help of my bestie to take over my social media and respond to email inquiries with an out-of-office response that I created myself before I left. I’m definitely a control freak. And I was freaking out! That barely lasted a day though.
I maintained social media, answered phone calls, and responded to emails until I no longer had cell phone reception. I refused to pay for daily internet access because I truly wanted this to be an offline vacation and make use of the time I needed to relax and enjoy my family. Rest was definitely needed because I slept the majority of the first day at sea.
Before this trip, I wasn’t too keen on cruising. But seeing how much my son enjoyed himself, I’m definitely booking another for next year. I think I can handle one week off again.
