I initially passed up the building that looked more like a small office or apartment complex. It was a bit inconspicuous and a tad bit sketchy. In my former life I would be in awe of said sketchy randomness but I'm a mommy now and am more cautious these days. The blinking arrow toward the back of the building confimed I was in the right place. We followed the arrow’s lead and were surprised by a covered parking area transformed into a vibrant patio of sorts with more shining lights and a few plastic “porch chairs”. As we walked in we were guided to the final destination by signs on the wall. With every turn the kid was seriously interrogating me like I was going to ditch him at any given moment. He’s not used to sketchy scenes in undisclosed locations. We’ll leave that for his college days. Suddenly, we were standing at the end of the rainbow. Jackpot!
I highly recommend Basement Theatre's Family Improv Comedy Night! We'll definitely be going again! Be sure to get your tickets a few days early as they tend to sell out fast. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids and students. The Basement Theatre also offers a host of other shows and they offer classes for those of you who may want to delve into the world of Improv. I definitely want to check out one of their adult shows. I'll save that one for a "date night" with myself of course (yeah, that's a whole other blog post)!
